Azure Cloud Engineer

IT & Digital Amsterdam 40 hours € 5.200 - € 7.800 Monthly

About the company

The financial sector increasingly relies on technology. Reliable digital services, secure data exchange and scalable platforms are no longer a competitive advantage. They're essential.

That's why financial institutions continue to invest in modern cloud environments and automation. Not only to accelerate software delivery, but also to ensure their platforms remain secure, stable and future-ready in a market that never stands still.

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you'll build the technical foundation that development teams, applications and digital services depend on every day. You'll join an environment where quality, reliability and innovation go hand in hand, and where your technical decisions directly contribute to platform performance.

Job description

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you ensure cloud platforms remain secure, scalable and efficient.

You'll build modern Azure environments, automate infrastructure and help development teams work faster and smarter. You don't just focus on today's requirements. You help shape how the platform will evolve in the years ahead.
Working closely with engineers, architects and other stakeholders, you'll turn technical challenges into sustainable solutions that help organisations move forward.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building and optimising cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure.
  • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Automating infrastructure with Terraform, Bicep or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
  • Improving platform performance, reliability and security.
  • Supporting development teams with cloud and DevOps-related challenges.
  • Standardising deployment processes and engineering best practices.
  • Monitoring cloud environments and identifying opportunities for optimisation.
  • Collaborating with architects and engineers to build scalable, future-ready cloud platforms.
Your role goes beyond platform maintenance. You'll actively contribute to the ongoing development of cloud platforms that play a critical role within the organisation.

Qualifications

We believe you'll be a great fit if you:

  • Have at least 3 years of experience as an Azure Engineer, Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Have hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native technologies.
  • Are familiar with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Have experience with Infrastructure as Code, using tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
  • Have knowledge of automation, scripting and platform engineering.
  • Have experience working in complex IT environments.
  • Are fluent in English.

In addition, you:

  • Enjoy solving complex technical challenges.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve and automate processes.
  • Take initiative and don't wait for someone else to solve problems.
  • Can explain complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable way.
  • Enjoy collaborating with colleagues and sharing your knowledge.
  • Stay up to date with new technologies and continuously invest in your own development.
Experience with Azure Functions, Azure Databricks, Kubernetes or cloud security is considered an advantage, but it's certainly not a requirement.
