Business Risk Consultant

Risk & Compliance Amsterdam 40 hours € 4.500 - € 7.000 Monthly

About the company

Through Capri Partners, you'll work on assignments with leading organisations in the financial services sector, including banks, insurers and other complex organisations where risk management plays a critical role.

You'll join professional environments where you'll collaborate with business teams, management, Compliance, Audit and Control. These organisations are constantly evolving, and your expertise directly contributes to better decision-making, stronger governance and a more risk-aware culture.

Job description

As a Business Risk Consultant, you work at the intersection of strategy, operations and risk management. You help organisations identify risks, improve processes and advise management teams on control measures that make a real difference. You're not observing from the sidelines. You're embedded within the business, helping to make risk management an integral part of everyday decision-making.

Your week includes:

  • Conducting risk assessments to identify operational and strategic risks.
  • Advising management on risks, control measures and building a risk-aware organisation.
  • Developing, implementing and enhancing risk and control frameworks.
  • Supporting the business with Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs).
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of controls and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Preparing management reports and risk reports, translating analyses into practical recommendations.
  • Facilitating workshops and helping organisations further strengthen risk awareness.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the first, second and third lines of defence, including Audit, Compliance and Control.
  • Contributing to the further development of Enterprise Risk Management across the organisation.

Qualifications

We believe you'll be a great fit if you:

  • Have at least three years of experience in Business Risk, Operational Risk, Audit, Compliance or Internal Control.
  • Have experience within financial services. Experience at a bank or insurance company is an advantage.
  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or have an equivalent level of professional and academic thinking.
  • Are fluent in English.
  • Have experience with one or more Enterprise Risk Management frameworks, such as COSO ERM, ISO 31000 or the Three Lines Model.
  • Are familiar with topics such as Operational Risk, Risk Assessments, Control Frameworks, Incident Management, RCSAs and Key Risk Indicators.
  • Can explain complex issues clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Are analytical, politically aware and able to provide constructive challenge while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Take initiative and thrive in an environment with a high level of responsibility.
  • Have experience with Solvency II, ORSA, Administrative Organisation & Internal Control (AO/IC), Agile, change programmes, Power BI or GRC software. This is considered an advantage, not a requirement.
